Emma Hale Smith was the wife of the Prophet Joseph Smith. She stood by his side and defended him until the day he was martyred. How did she feel as her love for this visionary restorationist tore her from her family and home, as she survived miscarriages, deaths of children, horrible persecutions and seeing her husband falsely imprisoned? Where did she go after Joseph was martyred? What did she do? What did she believe? The 43 years after the martyrdom are often some of the most misunderstood and criticized years of this beloved woman's life. The "Elect Lady" became unloved, unknown, and ridiculed. Why did that happen? This musical, written and composed by Jenny McKinney, explores the many complex events and decisions that Emma made after Joseph's death and hopes to help you see....
"Through Emma's Eyes."
We hope you will explore our website and come to feel, as we do, that Emma Hale Smith Bidamon is still the "Elect Lady" that she was through the first half of her life. We also pray that you will come to support our musical.
